130 households in Awendo , Migori County are set to benefit from a two kilometer electrification project under the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Cooperation (REREC). While commissioning the project, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Opiyo Wandayi, noted that the government had allocated 1.6 billion shillings for the 2024/2025 financial year to the last-mile connectivity programme to bridge the country's electricity gap.
