35 PELLOW COMMUNITY CONSERVANCY AFFILIATES GAIN VOCATIONAL SKILLS

In a bid to curb cases of violence and insecurity, believed to arise from unemployment, illiteracy and poverty in marginalised counties of West Pokot, Marsabit, Samburu, Isiolo, Laikipia, Baringo, Garissa, Tana River and Lamu, more than 1591 across 9 counties in Kenya since 2019 have been trained with 88% successfully setting up businesses for self-employment, contributing Sh150 million to the local GDP annually courtesy of Mashinani Works under Ujuzi Manyattani programme.
