More than 10 women groups in Laikipia County have adopted diversification of agriculture to beat the vagaries of climate change. Through the support of various non-governmental organizations, the women have been involved in various income-generating activities. The majority of women from pastoral communities gathered at Nanyuki Cedar Mall to showcase various projects that have now empowered them economically through venturing in areas previously considered a male domain. The projects include beekeeping and honey processing, growing aloe vera for export, and processing organic soaps using locally available materials.
