Chaos erupted at a shareholders' meeting in Kiambu as unknown individuals stormed Furaha Church Hall and began attacking the shareholders and their next of kin. The meeting had been called to address a 50-year-old land dispute between Embakasi Land Buying Company. According to witnesses the disruption occurred as prayers were being held to start the meeting. The attackers reportedly forced their way into the church and started breaking plastic chairs and physically assaulting elderly women before throwing them out. Police from Kiambu Police Station arrived at the scene and restored order allowing shareholders to proceed with their meeting amid calls for legal action.
