Internally Displaced Persons in Homa Bay County have urged the government to fast-track their compensation process following the recent working agreement between President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga. Speaking on behalf of the affected families, their representatives, Kennedy Odira, Harrison Ochieng, and Jacob Nyumba decried the difficult living conditions they have endured for years, with limited access to basic services and sustainable livelihoods. The IDPs were displaced during the 2007 post-election violence and are hopeful that the newfound political unity will create a conducive environment for addressing their long-standing grievances.
