1993 Nigeria Airways Hijackers: 'Babangida is a coward' - BBC Africa
In October 1993, four young boys between the ages of 16 and 18 hijacked a Nigeria Airways flight to protest the annulment of the June 12 election by the military regime.
Recently, Nigeria’s former head of state, General Ibrahim Babangida, who annulled that election, apologised for the decision and acknowledged that the late Moshood Abiola had won the presidential election.
The BBC’s Mobolaji Olatunde met two of the hijackers, who spoke about the turn of events 32 years after the decision that altered their lives and left victims traumatised.
