The Council of Governors has yet again faulted the national government over what it terms as deliberate efforts to kill devolution. The CoG took issue with a reduction in their allocations by 38.4bn that they say has been moved to the National government. Addressing the media CoG Vice Chair Mutahi Kahiga said the deductions will paralyze operations devolved to counties. Kahiga also noted that some counties have not received any monies from the exchequer since January 2025 as the equitable share runs to 78.03bn in arrears further suppressing essential services. They have now threatened to shut down counties in 14 days if the diversion is not reversed.
