Former Nairobi County Assembly clerk Jacob Ngwele has denied any connection to the unlawful acquisition of public property case against him, insisting that the case was malicious and that he was acquitted. Appearing before the IEBC selection panel on Tuesday, Ngwele said that the allegations were sponsored by individuals who wanted to get rid of him and five others. Appearing at the same panel, Joy Masinde-Mdivo, the current chairperson of the Kenya Power Board, reiterated the need for the country to embrace technology to ensure transparency and efficiency in Kenyan polls.
