The fate of young footballers in Mavoko, Machakos County hangs in the balance following a ruling by the Environment and Lands Court that overturned their access to Sabaki football ground, previously designated as public land. The ruling now recognizes it as a private property. Stakeholders have vowed to appeal the ruling saying the Sabaki pitch was the only remaining public field in the area following the grabbing of others, including the Liberty Stadium in Mlolongo.
