President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to miraa cartels in Meru County stating that their days are numbered as he vowed to ensure farmers will reap maximum benefits from the crop. Speaking in Maua Meru County during his second day of his Mount Kenya Tour, the president has tasked his deputy, Professor Kithure Kindiki, to ensure the sector is streamlined and address the farmers concerns. The president has also revealed that he dismantled the cartels in the coffee industry and ensured farmers now earn higher prices from the crop.
