East African Portland Cement Plc, has issued a 48 million shillings dividend to the Treasury and the National Social Security Fund [NSSF], a first in more than 14 years. The company says the move followed improved financial position after returning to profitability, posting a net profit of ksh 1 billion in the year to June 2024. The cement maker presented a ksh 24 million dummy check to NSSF managing trustee David Koros and a similar ksh 23 million cheque to the National Treasury.
