Five chiefs abducted in Mandera County by suspected al-shabaab militants while traveling to Elwak town in February this year have been released. Interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen who has begun his 6 day working tour of the coast region says the chiefs are now in the hands of Kenyan officials and the process of reuniting them with their families is ongoing.
