A cloud of sorrow has engulfed Kakrao Village in Migori County as family, friends, and community members gathered to bid farewell to Georgina Ooko, a student at Alliance High School who tragically lost her life following a devastating accident. Georgina who was on holiday in Mombasa with her mother,Joyce Ongombe, suffered severe burns after a boiler explosion in their rented apartment. Georgina was the only child to Joyce Ongombe, following the loss of her father and her two siblings in a flood incident 15 years ago. Joyce, still recovering in hospital, was unable to attend her daughter’s burial.
