County governments are now set to conduct a headcount of all Universal Healthcare Coverage workers to enhance accountability as the national government moves to settle a long-time push for the absorption of UHC staff. This is one of the resolutions reached during a consultative meeting between the county bosses and the Ministry of Health. The national government is expected to transfer to the devolved units, funds according to the salary scale approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
