Samia Suluhu declared winner of the Tanzanian Presidential race after garnering 98% of the vote

Tanzania’s president, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has been declared the winner of the country’s disputed election with more than 98% of the votes cast amid violent protests across the country earlier in the week. Tanzania’s electoral commission declared Suluhu of Chama Cha Mapinduzi CCM party the winner with 31.6 million votes.. In Tanzania's semi-autonomous archipelago of Zanzibar, which elects its own government and leader, CCM's Hussein Mwinyi, who is the incumbent president, won with nearly 80% of the vote.
