Studies have shown that out of these, more than 3200 compounds used in common plastic products, have been singled out as hazardous. As our Environment reporter, Opicho Chemtai reports, toxic chemicals found in plastics, once ingested are now linked to serious health conditions such as cancers, damage to immune system and stunted growth in children.
