    As technology continues to advance and more Kenyans embrace cashless transactions, concerns over personal data breaches are on the rise. An increasing number of Kenyans, particularly women, have raised complaints about receiving unsolicited text messages and phone calls from strangers. Often at odd hours in clear violation of their privacy rights. Under the data protection act, 2019, it is an offence to misuse personal information, including sending unsolicited messages, adding individuals to whatsapp groups without consent, or enrolling them in marketing lists.
