Elders from the Maasai community who claim ownership of the Olaloi group ranch have rejected a court decision dismissing their land case, which has been in the courts for more than two decades. A faction led by Michael Ole Risa, who identifies as the ranch chairperson, has vowed to appeal the ruling on a dispute dating back to 2005. The advocate representing the winning side argues that many of the original litigants have since died, and that inconsistencies in the case contributed to its dismissal after years of legal battles.
