A multi-agency operation involving the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) and security officers has dismantled a major counterfeit cooking oil syndicate in Mombasa, seizing substandard products worth more than Ksh 100 million. The raid, conducted at a private yard in Shimanzi, Mvita, followed intelligence reports and was led by ACA Coast Regional Manager, Ibrahim Bulle. Authorities impounded 13 trucks used to smuggle the illicit products and confiscated hundreds of jerricans branded with labels of popular Kenyan cooking oil firms. Officials confirmed the products were of poor quality and unfit for human consumption.
