Fight Social Health Insurance Act roll out

Katiba institute, several civil societal bodies and health unions have joined the Kenya medical practitioners and dentist union (KMPDU) to challenge the enactment of the social health insurance act citing various challenges including low and inaccessible quality health care, lack of accountability and looming corruption. They further expressed concerns that the bill which largely affects the informal sector will subject over-burdened Kenyans with upfront annual contributions or an alternative of acquiring heavy loans before accessing care.
