Members of National Assembly now want the president to declare the ongoing floods a national disaster and direct provision of urgent intervention measures. The MPs adjourned normal business to express how their constituents were suffering due to floods caused by elnino rains. They argue declaration of the floods as a national disaster will invite even the international community and donors to provide assistance to affected persons.
