The elderly population in Kenya has received a major boost with the launch of the ageing studies institute at Zetech University in partnership with the Kinuthia Wamwangi Foundation'' to research and provide solutions to challenges facing senior citizens. The institute aims to provide medical camps, aftercare, research, and public education, while also promoting healthy ageing and stronger policy support for older persons. Kinuthia Wamwangi said the centre will forge strong networks with national and county governments to ensure that policies and programmes for older persons are well implemented. Zetech University leaders emphasized their capacity to run the centre effectively, as elderly beneficiaries welcomed free services such as the ELions eye Hospital clinic held during the launch.
