Helikopta ya Israel yashambulia ikivuka mpaka wake Gaza
Holikopta ya kivita ya Israeli imeonekana ikishambulia kwa makombora wakati ikiruka katika anga la eneo la kaskazini mwa Gaza lililioko mpakani na Jabalia Jumatano, wakati mapigano yakiendelea kuwa mabaya zaidi huko Gaza.
Umoja wa Ulaya umeitaka Israel kusitisha mara moja operesheni za kijeshi kusini mwa mji wa Rafah huko Gaza, wakisema Jumatano kuwa operesheni hiyo inazuia operesheni za usambazaji wa misaada ya kibinadamu na kusababisha watu zaidi kukoseshwa makazi, njaa na matatizo kwa binadamu.
Taarifa hiyo kutoka kwa mkuu wa sera za kigeni za Umoja wa Ulaya Joseph Borell imeeleza kuwa Israel ina haki ya kujihami lakini inasema Israel lazima ifuate sheria za kimataifa na kuwalinda raia.
“Umoja wa Ulaya inaitaka Israel kujizuia kuendeleza hali mbaya ya kibinadamu iliyoko huko Gaza na kufungua tena kivuko cha Rafah,”Borrell alisema. “Iwapo Israel itaendelea na operesheni yake ya kijeshi huko Rafah, itafanya bila shaka uhusiano kati ya EU na Israel kuwa mashakani.
Mapigano kati ya Israel na Hamas yalianza baada ya Oktoba 7 pale shambulizi la kigaidi la Hamas lilipouwa watu 1,200 nchini Israel.
