Communities in six counties affected by insecurity came together in Marigat, Baringo County, not for a battle, but for a celebration of culture and a collective fight against climate change. The event spearheaded by the North Rangelands Trust (NRT), the Baringo County Government, the European Union, and USAID, aimed to showcase the rich cultural tapestry of the region while promoting environmental awareness. Years of environmental degradation, it was noted, exacerbated resource scarcity, leading to competition and fueling conflict. North Rangelands Trust peace manager, Wario Galma and Baringo Deputy Governor of Baringo Felix Maiyo underlined the crucial link between environmental conservation and lasting peace.
