Iran yaanzisha vinu vipya katika programu yenye utata ya nyuklia
Iran imeanza kuweka mabomba mapya ya nyuklia na inapanga kuweka mengine katika wiki zijazo baada ya kukabiliwa na ukosoaji kwa progamu yake ya nyuklia, shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa linalofuatilia masuala ya nyuklia limesema siku ya Ijumaa. Marekani imeieleza hatua hiyo ni “kuongeza mivutano ya nyuklia.”
Kuanzisha vinu vipya katika program ya nyuklia ya Iran, ambayo tayari inasindika uranium kwa viwango vya kuweza kutengeneza silaha za nyuklia na kuboresha shehena yake kwa mabomu kadhaa ya nyuklia kama itaamua kuchukua mwelekeo huo.
Hata hivyo, kukiri kwa Shirika la Kimataifa la Nishati ya Atomiki halikujumuisha pendekezo lolote kuwa Iran inapanga kufikia kiwango vya juu vya kusindika uranium huku kukiwepo mivutano mipana kati ya Tehran na nchi za Magharibi wakati vita vya Israel na Hamas vikiendelea Ukanda wa Gaza.
Shirika la IAEA lilisema wakaguzi wake walithibitisha Jumatatu kuwa Iran ilikuwa imeanza kuweka uranium katika mabomba matatu yenye uwezo wa kurutubisha katika viwango vya IR-4 na IR-6 katika kituo cha usindikaji cha Natanz. Vinu hivyo ni mkusanyiko wa mabomba ya kuchanganya gesi ya uranium pamoja ili kurutubisha kwa haraka madini hayo ya uranium.
Hadi sasa, Iran imekuwa ikisindika uranium katika vituo hivyo kufikia uhalisia wa asilimia 2. Iran tayari imerutubisha uranium kufikia asilimia 60, ikiwa iko karibu kufikia hatua ya kiufundi kuweza kutengeneza silaha mbalimbali kwa kiwango cha asilimia 90.
