The Emergency Locust Response Project (ELRP) and the Food System Resilience Project (FSRP), have initiated countywide livestock vaccination in Mandera. The initiative is aimed at protecting the livelihoods of pastoral communities and enhancing resilience against frequent disease outbreaks among livestock. Veterinary officers conducted critical activities including the Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) vaccination, deworming, and vector control measures such as spraying livestock to protect against ticks and biting flies. They also conducted community sensitization by educating the public on prevention measures against zoonotic diseases
