Learning institutions in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas of Laikipia County have been encouraged to adopt innovative ways of water harvesting to cushion them from unpredictable weather patterns. National Drought Management Authority CEO Lt. Col. (Rtd) Hared Adan who spoke in Uaso Nyiro Primary School in Laikipia North where he provided 81 water tanks to schools said they had partnered with learning institutions to find solutions to unprecedented challenges caused by climate change. He said the water tanks to schools in Laikipia are meant to enhance farming activities for food production to bolster education in the county.
