African Scientists are calling on funding bodies to commit more resources to African scholars, either directly or in cooperation with institutions that provide training and capacity-building opportunities. The scientists say until there is infrastructural support to create the desired equitable research ecosystem, it will remain challenging to implement best practices for African DNA and aDNA research. The scientists were speaking at the Museum of Kenya during the unveiling of a new paper in the American Journal of Human Genetics that sets a vision for how to achieve equitable genomics research in Africa in ten years.
