The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first case of Mpox in the country from an individual who was on transit to Rwanda from Uganda. The virus was detected from an individual not disclosed at the Taita Taveta border post with Tanzania.The infection, which is caused by the Monkeypox virus, spreads through close contact, causing flu-like symptoms and a painful rash. Most cases are mild but it can kill and the ministry urging Kenyans to be on high and wash hands often with soap and sanitizers to minimize the risk of infection.
