The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has raised concerns over the increasing number of fraudsters posing as detectives of the commission to con unsuspecting Kenyans. EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi, who was in Kwale county, said the fraudsters are fond of purporting to be conducting investigations urging Kenyans to verify the identity of the individuals and refrain from the culture of bribing. Ngumbi says the commission has encountered over 300 cases of individuals pretending to be officers of EACC in 2024 alone.
