More than 1000 families from Nduru area in Kisumu are now calling for the setting up of dykes around Lake Victoria, to cushion them from the effects of perennial floods. The residents who have been in evacuation camps since April, decried negligence from government, claiming they are yet to receive the compensation funds for victims of flooding as promised by the president.
