West Pokot County Governor Simon Kachapin has called on local farmers to adopt modern agricultural techniques to help them increase food production and as well mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. Governor Kachapin who spoke at the County's annual Agricultural Show noted the need for locals to advance from traditional farming methods which are expensive and have low returns on produce. He further urged farmers to plant crops that are drought resistant and embrace use of irrigation systems, and proper soil management techniques.
