At least 20 university lecturers and staff were arrested in Nairobi following demonstrations organised by universities academic staff union and the Kenya universities staff union. Police lobbed teargas canisters to disperse dons and staff who wanted to present petitions to the national assembly, the CS Education and the national treasury. The UASU and KUSU members who are demanding the implementation of their 2021- 2025 collective bargaining agreement vowed not to relent.
