Many Kenyans now feel it is better to stay at home when they fall sick rather than struggle to afford high medical costs that they can not afford in public hospitals in the country. Kidney patients say it is better to die at home than bear the burden of paying ksh 9,500 every week for kidney dialysis sessions. This is even as faith-based institutions revealed that the government owes them kshs 2 bilion from NHIF which they say should be cleared. The government is maintaining that all pending bills will be cleared within 90 days.
