Yahya Sinwar, ambaye aliongoza orodha ya majina ya watu wanaotafutwa zaidi na Israeli, inadaiwa alikuwa mtu muhimu katika mashambulio ya 7 Oktoba.
Afisa mkuu wa Hamas Khalil al-Hayya amethibitisha kifo cha kiongozi wa kundi hilo na kusema kwamba aliuawa katika mapigano.
Anasema kuwa kundi hilo litaendelea na juhudi zake ili kufikia malengo ya wananchi wa Palestina na kuongeza kuwa, kifo cha Sinwar kitazidi kuimarisha kundi hilo.
