Tharaka Nithi residents express joy following Kindiki’s appointment

Residents of Irunduni, Tharaka Nithi County where Prof Kithure Kindiki hails from have expressed their delight in the appointment of their former senator as the third deputy President of Kenya. While some of the residents camped at Kindiki's rural home to celebrate the honor bestowed on their senator, others turned up at local shopping centers to follow the event live on TV. The happy residents are optimistic the leadership of the new deputy president will transform not only the semi-arid Tharaka but also the entire nation.
