Still on the economy, a plan by the national Treasury to bring back sections of the 2024 finance bill rejected by Kenyans and withdrawn by President William Ruto is gathering pace, with the introduction of a yet-to-be published tax laws amendments bill. Among the proposals to be reintroduced is a five percent withholding tax on interest earned from infrastructure bonds with tenures of at least three years. This will be the first time ifb's are subjected to the tax. NTV's Brian George has more on the return of the finance bill 2024.
