The ministry of health is defending the closure of Omnicare Medical Limited as a move necessitated by investigations that revealed serious non compliance with medical institutions regulations. This is after the facility came to the limelight following a fatally botched surgery. A woman identified as Lucy Wambui died after undergoing surgery at Body By Design clinic which is operated by Omnicare Medical limited. This prompted a probe by the Kenya medical practitioners and dentists council into the facility`s practices and standards leading to its closure
