10 people have been confirmed dead in the coastal region due to the heavy rains that continue to pound the region. Coast Regional Commissioner Rhoda Onyancha has revealed that Tana River County is the most affected having recorded 2 deaths so far and over 5000 displacements. The floods have adversely impacted over 3800 households in Mombasa county, with Governor Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir affirming that the county in collaboration with other stakeholders has intensified its response interventions. Serfine Achieng’ Ouma reports that, two KRA officers are also feared dead after they were swept away by the Ramisi River in Kwale County.
