A 40-year-old dispute over land in Makueni county has re-emerged with residents of Mbooni and Mbitini lamenting over an alleged deliberate delay by the government to compensate them for parcels of land they ceded for two water projects. The residents, who surrendered their land for the construction of Mulima dam in Mbooni constituency and Manooni dam in Makueni constituency now say, they have been living in misery since they surrendered their land to pave way for the water projects.
