76% of Kenyans believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction. This is according to an end of year survey by research firm Infotrak which depicts an increasing level of hopelessness and pessimism for the year 2025. The survey shows that only 30% of Kenyans believe that 2025 will be a better year compared to a majority who are either uncertain or feel that it will be worse due to a deteriorating state of economy, poor governance, high taxation and loss of jobs. 83% of Kenyans feel that the economy will get worse compared to 48% who think it will improve next year.
