Baby Skin Ligtening: 'I bleached my children’s skin to be closer to my mother' - BBC Africa

There’s a trend by some parents in Nigeria of using skin-lightening products on babies and young children. The World Health Organization says Nigeria has Africa’s highest skin lightening rate at 77% - one of the highest in the world. In 2023, the country declared it a health emergency.
