Campaign to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe in Baringo

The Rothschild giraffe is one of the endangered species also known as the Baringo giraffe which is estimated to be only 765 in Kenya. At Ruko Conservancy, there are 14 of them which were translocated in 2020 from Longicharo island of Lake Baringo. The giraffes have brought about a peaceful coexistence between two communities, the Pokot and the Ilchamus.
