On Saturday, 12th October 2024, Chiromo Hospital Group unveiled the highly anticipated 4th edition of Mental MINDFEST, a dynamic mental wellness initiative aimed at raising awareness and tackling mental health challenges head-on. This year’s event was all about sparking meaningful conversations and finding innovative ways to champion mental wellness across society.
Dr. Frank Njenga, Chairman of Chiromo Hospital Group and a renowned Psychiatrist and advocate for mental health, emphasized the urgent need for businesses to integrate mental wellness into the workplace, calling on organizations to put their employees' mental health front and center.
A special focus was placed on the youth, as the program highlighted their pivotal role in preventing mental illness. Young people were encouraged to engage in open, honest discussions about the mental health hurdles they face and help break the silence.
Gathoni Mbugua, Senior Clinical Psychologist and the visionary founder of MINDFEST, delivered a powerful call to action. She urged society to unite in reducing stigma and promoting mental wellness at every level, stressing that mental health initiatives deserve community-wide support.
