Beach Operators managing the Coco Beach access road in Malindi Sub-County in Kilifi County have accused a local restaurant owner of harassment and colluding with authorities to deny them their livelihood. The operators, who provide parking and security services to tourists visiting Vasco da Gama Pillar and Silver Sand Beach, claim that they have been facing constant harassment from the police, whom they believe are being incited by the restaurant owner to drive them away. They are calling for the County Government to intervene and recognize their contribution to the local economy.
