A day before the East Africa community extraordinary summit that will take place in Nairobi, efforts to de-escalate renewed fighting in Eastern democratic Republic of Congo continue to gather momentum. President William Ruto, also the current chairperson of the EAC, today held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron geared towards making interventions to end the war in DRC. Macron has committed his country’s efforts to help solve the unfolding crisis occasioned by fighting between Congolese national army and m-23 rebels.
