Eight traders have been arrested by officers from the National Environmental Management Authority NEMA in Kyumbi area, Machakos County for possessing banned plastic bags. According to Eastern Region Administrative Officer of NEMA, Patrick Lekenit, the eight traders are in custody at Kyumbi Police Station after being found with over 1,000 banned plastic bags, which were banned in the country since 2017.
