Uasin Gishu county remained calm today unlike on Tuesday when Eldoret town was marred by violent demonstrations as police engaged demonstrators during the anti-Finance Bill protests. A heavy police presence was witnessed in the North Rift town, deployed to deal with protesters who did not come out today. However, groups of youth were also seen patrolling the town armed with “rungus” and arrows ostensibly looking for protesters whom they accused for destroying businesses.
