The Federation of Women Lawyers Kenya, has condemned what it terms as the slow pace of investigation into the cases of femicide in the country . According to FIDA a total of 30 women have lost their lives in the hands of intimate partners since the beginning of the year but no arrests have been made.FIDA Chairperson Christine Kungu said the matter is getting out of hand calling on the President to declare femicide a national crisis. FIDA has also issued a 30 day ultimatum for action to be taken by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions failure to which they will mobilize women to hold demonstrations .
