The Kenya Kwanza government has dropped some of the proposed taxes in the finance bill 2024. Speaking on Tuesday ahead of the tabling of the bill on the floor of the house, finance, and planning committee chair Kuria Kimani said the move was necessitated by the overwhelming opposition to some of the proposals during the public participation process. The amendments come after Kenya Kwanza held a parliamentary group meeting at the statehouse in Nairobi to abreast themselves with the bill before its debate.
